This 150 mm Apex heavy-duty leading brake castor is designed for applications where high load capacity, controlled movement and directional stability are critical. The castor features a full swivel head combined with a leading brake mechanism, which engages automatically as the equipment changes direction. This helps maintain straight-line travel, reduces lateral movement and improves overall control when manoeuvring heavy loads.
With an impressive 454 kg load capacity per castor, this model is well suited to demanding industrial environments. A ball journal bearing is fitted as standard, providing smooth, consistent rolling performance under load while minimising effort during start-up, steering and braking.
The castor is equipped with a 150 mm diameter ergonomic polyurethane wheel, finished in a high-visibility yellow. The 50 mm wide tread and 92 Shore A hardness are specifically engineered to reduce rolling resistance and operator push forces, while still offering excellent durability and wear resistance. The wheel performs reliably within a –20 °C to +60 °C temperature range, making it suitable for a wide variety of industrial and commercial applications.
A robust top plate fixing measuring 140 × 110 mm ensures secure attachment and effective load distribution. The plate includes 105 × 80/75 mm hole centres with 10 mm bolt holes, allowing easy integration onto heavy-duty frames and equipment. This castor has a total height of 200 mm and a 170 mm swivel radius, delivering stable handling and predictable braking performance even under maximum load.
This 150 mm Apex leading brake castor is ideal for:
Heavy-duty industrial trolleys and carts
Transport platforms requiring directional control
Manufacturing and assembly line equipment
Mobile machinery handling high static and dynamic loads
Applications where reduced operator effort and improved stability are essential
Ross Handling’s Apex heavy-duty castor range is engineered for strength, efficiency and long-term reliability. This 150 mm leading brake castor with ergonomic polyurethane wheel offers an excellent solution where load control, straight-line travel and reduced rolling resistance are key operational requirements.
