Cat Planter 01

To celebrate international cat day we've created this step by step guide on how to create this cat plan stand- the purrfect addition to your garden...

What do you need?

  • Plywood or exterior MDF
  • pencil
  • PST 18 LI jigsaw
  • PSM 10,8 LI sander
  • Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch paint in black
  • paint brush
  • Ronseal Garden Paint in Sundial
  • Plate fitting swivel castors (obviously!)
  • PSB ergonomic drill

Directions

1. Download and print a cat template of your choice. Cut it out and use it to draw the cat shape onto a sheet of ply or exterior MDF. Use a jigsaw to cut the shape out, then sand the edges to smooth them.

2.Draw a 30cm diameter circle onto the ply or MDF and cut it out using the jigsaw to make a base, then sand the edges. Apply two coats of black paint to the cat, and two coats of yellow to the base, ensuring that you paint all sides and edges of the cat, as it will be seen from all angles.

3.Turn the base upside down and position four castors onto it. Mark the screw holes of each with a pencil, then screw into place. Turn the base right-side up and position the cat onto it, off to one side. Turn upside down and secure, screwing from underneath into the cat.
