This 250 mm heavy-duty swivel fabricated castor is designed for high-load industrial applications where strength, stability and reliable manoeuvrability are essential. Manufactured with a robust fabricated steel top plate housing, this castor is built to withstand continuous use in demanding environments such as engineering workshops, manufacturing facilities and heavy material handling operations.
With a maximum load capacity of 1400 kg per castor, it is well suited to supporting heavy machinery, large mobile frames and industrial equipment. The ball bearing swivel head ensures smooth and controlled rotation under load, helping to reduce steering resistance while maintaining excellent stability during movement.
The castor is fitted with a 250 mm diameter polyurethane on cast iron wheel, combining a solid cast iron core for exceptional strength with a high-performance polyurethane tread that offers durability, reduced rolling resistance and improved floor protection. The 50 mm wide tread, produced to A92 Shore hardness, provides excellent load distribution and long service life, even under sustained heavy loads. Designed for use within a –40 °C to +60 °C temperature range, this castor performs reliably in a wide range of industrial conditions.
A heavy-duty top plate measuring 138 × 110 mm, with 105 × 80/75 mm hole centres and 11 mm fixing holes, allows for secure installation onto steel structures and fabricated bases. With a total castor height of 300 mm and a 173 mm swivel radius, this castor offers a stable footprint while maintaining smooth swivel action for precise positioning of heavy loads.
This 250 mm heavy-duty swivel fabricated castor is ideal for:
Heavy industrial machinery and plant equipment
Fabricated steel frames and platforms
Manufacturing and engineering environments
Heavy-duty trolleys and transport systems
Applications requiring high load capacity with controlled swivel movement
Ross Handling supplies heavy-duty castors engineered for strength, safety and long-term reliability. This 250 mm swivel fabricated castor with polyurethane on cast iron wheel delivers dependable performance where high load capacity and durability are critical.
