This 250 mm heavy-duty swivel castor is engineered for demanding industrial applications where high load capacity, durability and controlled manoeuvrability are essential. The swivel head allows full 360-degree rotation, enabling smooth directional changes when moving heavy equipment, machinery or fabricated structures.
Each castor is rated to carry an impressive 1400 kg load capacity, making it suitable for heavy machinery, industrial frames, large trolleys and transport platforms. When fitted as a set of four, these castors provide a maximum combined load capacity of up to 4200 kg, offering exceptional strength and reliability in tough working environments.
The castor is fitted with a 250 mm diameter polyurethane on cast iron wheel, combining outstanding load-bearing strength with smoother rolling performance compared to steel wheels alone. The A92 Shore hardness polyurethane tread delivers excellent wear resistance, high impact tolerance and reduced rolling resistance, while also helping to protect floor surfaces. The wheel operates reliably across a temperature range of –40 °C to +60 °C, making it suitable for both cold and ambient industrial environments.
A fabricated steel top plate measuring 138 × 110 mm, with 105 × 80/75 mm hole centres and 11 mm fixing holes, ensures a secure and rigid mounting to equipment. The castor has a total height of 300 mm and a swivel radius of 173 mm, providing stable handling and predictable movement even under heavy loads.
High-quality ball bearings in the swivel head ensure smooth rotation under load, reducing operator effort and improving manoeuvrability during frequent repositioning.
This 250 mm heavy-duty swivel castor is ideal for use on:
Heavy industrial machinery and equipment
Fabricated steel frames and platforms
Manufacturing, engineering and logistics environments
Applications requiring high load capacity with smooth swivel movement
Ross Handling supplies industrial-grade castors built for performance, safety and longevity. This heavy-duty 250 mm swivel castor offers a reliable combination of strength, durability and controlled mobility for demanding industrial use.
