This 125 mm Apex heavy-duty leading brake castor is engineered for applications that require high load capacity, precise control and enhanced braking performance during movement. The swivel head provides full 360-degree rotation, while the leading brake mechanism automatically engages when the direction of travel changes, helping to keep equipment moving in a straight line and improving control when manoeuvring heavy loads.
Rated to carry 362 kg per castor, this model is ideal for industrial and commercial environments where stability and predictable movement are essential. A ball journal bearing is fitted as standard, ensuring smooth rolling action under load and reducing resistance when starting, stopping or changing direction.
The castor features a 125 mm diameter ergonomic polyurethane wheel in a high-visibility yellow finish, designed to significantly reduce push and pull forces compared with conventional polyurethane wheels. The 50 mm wide tread and 92 Shore A hardness deliver excellent load distribution, durability and resistance to wear, while also helping to protect floor surfaces. The wheel operates reliably within a –20 °C to +60 °C temperature range, making it suitable for a wide range of industrial environments.
A robust top plate fixing measuring 140 × 110 mm provides secure mounting and efficient load transfer. The plate incorporates 105 × 80/75 mm hole centres with 10 mm bolt holes, allowing straightforward installation onto heavy-duty frames and equipment. This castor has a total height of 164 mm and a 168 mm swivel radius, offering controlled handling even when fully loaded.
This Apex leading brake castor is particularly well suited to:
Heavy-duty industrial trolleys and carts
Transport platforms requiring directional stability
Production and assembly line equipment
Mobile machinery where controlled straight-line travel is important
Applications where operator effort and load sway must be reduced
Ross Handling supplies premium Apex heavy-duty castors designed to deliver strength, control and reduced rolling resistance. This 125 mm leading brake castor with ergonomic polyurethane wheel provides an excellent balance of load capacity, manoeuvrability and braking performance for demanding industrial use.
