This 160 mm swivel braked heavy-duty fabricated castor is engineered for demanding industrial applications where both high load capacity and secure braking are essential. The swivel housing provides smooth 360-degree manoeuvrability, while the integrated brake locks the wheel and swivel, ensuring stable and controlled positioning when stationary.
Each castor offers an impressive 860 kg load capacity, making it suitable for heavy machinery, industrial trolleys, fabrication frames and production equipment. When fitted as a set of four, this castor configuration supports a maximum combined load of 2580 kg, delivering reliable performance in high-load environments.
The castor is fitted with a 160 mm diameter polyurethane on cast iron wheel, combining exceptional strength with reduced rolling resistance. The A92 Shore polyurethane tread provides excellent wear resistance, high load tolerance and improved floor protection compared to steel wheels. This wheel is designed to operate within a temperature range of –40 °C to +60 °C, making it suitable for both cold stores and standard industrial conditions.
A robust fabricated top plate measuring 135 × 110 mm, with 105 × 80/75 mm hole centres and 10 mm fixing holes, ensures secure and stable mounting to heavy equipment. The castor has a total height of 205 mm and a swivel radius of 157 mm, allowing smooth steering even under substantial loads while maintaining excellent stability.
This 160 mm swivel braked heavy-duty castor is ideal for use on:
Heavy-duty industrial and fabrication trolleys
Mobile machinery and production equipment
Manufacturing and logistics handling systems
Applications requiring high load capacity with positive braking control
Ross Handling supplies industrial-grade castors built for strength, durability and long service life. This 160 mm swivel braked fabricated castor with polyurethane on cast iron wheel is a dependable solution where controlled movement, high load capacity and reliable braking are required.
