This 200 mm Apex heavy-duty leading brake castor is engineered for applications requiring exceptional load capacity, controlled straight-line travel and dependable braking performance. The castor combines a full swivel head with a leading brake mechanism, which automatically aligns the wheel in the direction of travel, helping to prevent unwanted sideways movement and improving overall handling of heavy loads.
With a robust 544 kg load capacity per castor, this model is ideal for demanding industrial environments. A ball journal bearing is fitted as standard, delivering smooth, low-resistance rolling while maintaining stability and reliability under high static and dynamic loads.
The castor is fitted with a 200 mm diameter ergonomic polyurethane wheel, finished in a high-visibility yellow. The 50 mm wide tread and 92 Shore A hardness are specifically designed to reduce rolling resistance and operator effort, while providing excellent durability and long service life. The wheel performs reliably within a –20 °C to +60 °C temperature range, making it suitable for a wide range of industrial and commercial applications.
A heavy-duty top plate fixing measuring 140 × 110 mm ensures secure mounting and effective load distribution. The plate features 105 × 80/75 mm hole centres with 10 mm bolt holes, allowing straightforward installation onto heavy-duty frames and equipment. This castor has a total height of 240 mm and a 180 mm swivel radius, providing stable manoeuvrability and controlled braking even when operating at maximum capacity.
This 200 mm Apex leading brake castor is well suited to:
Heavy-duty industrial trolleys and transport equipment
Large mobile platforms requiring directional stability
Manufacturing and warehouse handling systems
Mobile machinery carrying high static and dynamic loads
Applications where reduced push force and improved control are critical
Ross Handling’s Apex heavy-duty castor range is designed to deliver strength, efficiency and long-term performance. This 200 mm leading brake castor with ergonomic polyurethane wheel provides an excellent solution where high load capacity, straight-line travel and operator comfort are essential.
